Response to the Provisional Approval to End State Receivership

November 18, 2024 by sfabricant-mta

Regular Prep Time – Class Action Grievance

November 13, 2024 by sfabricant-mta

Elementary & Middle School teachers: HTA has filed a class action grievance about lost prep time. We strongly encourage you to share your experience with your union.

We’re asking the district to:

  • Cease scheduling IEP meetings or non-collaborative meetings during daily regular prep time.
  • Immediately notify ALL school-based leadership (Principals, Vice Principals, and Deans of Management & Operations) to
    • Provide coverage for any and all missed daily regular prep periods.
    • Providing additional minutes of coverage for any loss of classroom instruction due to an IEP, non-collaborative meeting, or professional development.
  • Notify all building-based coaches to release Weekly Planning Meeting (WPM) agendas at least 24 hours in advance for educators to review.

Have you lost prep time due to IEPs and been denied coverage?

Share your experience with us by emailing holyoketeachersassociation@gmail.com
